Operations Manager
We’re seeking a seasoned Leader with exceptional result-oriented Managerial skills to lead our facility's Design and Manufacturing operations.Our candidate will have a background in Mechatronics, Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or Automation & Robotics, capable of supporting startup growth, and empowering & developing self-directed teams in a fast-paced, growing organization. The incumbent will effectively manage Operational and Financial KPIs in Manufacturing while dedicating time to implementing strategic actions to support the organization's growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build a strong team by recruiting, developing and managing plant staff.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the plant by setting daily/weekly/monthly objectives, schedules, and responsibilities and communicating those to the employees.
- Monitor and maintain facility KPIs (operational & strategic) including P&L, safety, quality and production targets.
- Identify and bridge gaps in processes to maintain safety, quality and production standards.
- Manage the effective implementation of all modules of ERP (E2 Job boss).
- Ensure implementation/improvement of quality management systems.
- Perform regular project management and resource management.
- Effective scheduling of all HR and machines in the facility.
- Establish a monitoring mechanism to increase capacity usage.
- Preventive/ predictive maintenance requirements to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- Ensure that all required tooling, material, CNC programming and other resources are available as production requires.
- Ensure that jobs are manufactured on time, efficiently, and to the highest quality level.
- Maintain regular liaison with executive management and workers relating to production opportunities and needs to meet company demands.
- Implement and maintain an effective continuous improvement plan, including corrective and preventive actions, Lean—Kaizen Six Sigma, etc. Provide necessary support to purchasing and office staff on material requisitions.
- Support sales activities by providing costing and estimation for each project.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Trade Certificate in Mechatronics/ Mechanical/Electronics /Electrical Engineering (or some combination)
- 10-15 years of proven experience as a Plant/ Operations Manager or similar role leading a team of 10+ employees.
- Experience in Automation and Robotics processes.
- Supervising (and or hands-on) experience in HAAS 3 and 5 Axis milling CNC (VF5, VF4, UMC 750) and numerically controlled lathe, milling, surface grinder, and other machining processes is required.
- A quick learner and strong leader skilled in communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, business development and managing customer relationships.
- Efficient in operational planning and deployment and developing processes to maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity.
- Change agent with a drive to succeed and contribute to critical strategic objectives.
- Ability to control expenses and run projections.
- Knowledge of 6 Sigma, lean-Kaizen tools, and Quality Management Systems such as ISO9000 and AS9100.
- Advanced skills in MS Office and technology savvy.
