Business Development Manager

We are looking for a highly-motivated and results-oriented Sales professional who wants to help define how we grow and expand. Our ideal candidate will have experience developing Customers in Telecom, Utilities, Mining, Renewable Energy, Construction, Electrical Transmission & Distribution, Rail, Transportation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Identify and create opportunities by spotting market trends, connecting with prospective clients, and turning ideas into action.

- Build relationships and trust by being the face of the company with customers, partners, and industry influencers.

- Collaborate across teams by working with engineering, estimating, delivery, and finance to turn opportunities into successful projects.

- Shape the strategy by helping define our sales approach, market positioning, and entry into new sectors.

- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to raise our profile and uncover prospects.

- Communicate with the Project Manager and the technical team to ensure the scope for each Engineering job is well documented and adheres to customer specification. This may require communication with the customer to clarify any uncertainties.

- Communicate with the Project Manager and Engineering Services Support team to ensure quotes are accurate and delivered promptly.

- Notify the Director of Canadian Engineering & Field Services and the Project Manager of any issues or barriers the technical team is experiencing. Ensure any conflicts or discrepancies are resolved to the client’s specifications and timelines.

- Review all engineering and CAD documents completed by the technical team ensuring they are in adherence with the job scope. Review documents for potential quality issues.

- All communication with the customers is to be professional and represent the company brand in a positive fashion. Customer needs must be addressed promptly and in accordance with the company's operating procedures.

- Ensure the financial obligations of the Project Manager are met weekly.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Post-secondary education in Business, Engineering, Construction, or related discipline.

- Minimum of five years of experience or more in Sales/Business Development/Product Management.

- Experience in Steel/Metals with a background in Construction, Renewable Energy, Utilities, Oil 7 Gas, Mining, Telecom, Rail, Transportation.

- Exceptional communication skills, ability to develop credibility, cultivate relationships, and capture new customers.

- Strong critical-thinking, multi-tasking, and decision-making skills with the ability to prioritize and adapt to changing needs and dynamics.

- Well-versed in Financial reporting, Sales targets, and Product costing, and analyzing/interpreting data to drive decision-making.

- Change agent with a drive to succeed and contribute to critical strategic objectives.

- Experience with Salesforce and Visual Operating would be an asset.

- Proven ability to learn quickly, retain key knowledge/information, and apply/execute within short time, including Resource Scheduling procedures and ensuring Project scope is accessible to Project Manager.

- Advanced skills in MS Office and technology savvy.
